Sterling silver dog pendant, charm, earrings and ring
By KitschKat
If you love dogs and all things canine, then a great way to show it is by wearing an item of dog-themed jewellery. I've had a look on Amazon.com and found some fabulous dog jewellery to suit all tastes - there are pendants, charms, earrings and even a couple of rings. Any of these would make a great treat for yourself, or a gift for Christmas, birthdays or Valentine's Day. In this hub, I've concentrated on sterling silver dog jewellery because it combines collectability with affordability - read on, and see what you think!
Sterling silver dog pendant and earrings
For something with a bit of colour, take a look at the range of artisan-made silver and enamel dog pendants and earrings by AJ.
The one in the main pic (right) is a dachshund with moveable legs! AJ does pendants in lots of other breeds too, including Boston terrier, scottie, pug, labrador and basset hound - you'll find the relevant Amazon links below this paragraph. AJ pendants, which all come with a silver snake chain, are artisan-made in Taxco, Mexico and hand-coloured in Fort Bragg, California. If you don't want enamelling, they do several non-enamel designs too and they also have a gorgeous selection of silver cat pendants and earrings.

No Amazon products foundZarah is another designer worth checking out when it comes to enamelled sterling silver dog (and cat) jewellery - check out the silver and enamel dachshund pendant, for example. Another item that caught my eye was OLD's Celtic pendant, with three stylised dogs which are "knotted" in a circle! It reminds me of pieces by Scottish silver designers such as Ola Gorie. The actual item description doesn't give a size or weight, but it's described by a reviewer as "2 inches wide and heavy", so this is a lot of silver for a very reasonable price, and will make a real statement. I would wear an item like this on a rubber cord necklace, a black leather thong or a thick snake chain.
Sterling silver dog charms and rings
Amazon.com's sterling silver dog charm has a red collar in epoxy enamel, and the fur is oxidised to give a realistic-looking finish. This is of course designed for a conventional charm bracelet or necklace, but you can also buy "bead"-style silver dog charms too - see below.
When it comes to rings, I was really taken by SilverBin's sterling silver dog face ring. It's quite chunky (the face is just under 2 cm wide), so will really stand out. If you'd rather not have an actual dog face on your finger, then try a circle of bones instead! JKL's dog bone ring is 12 mm wide. As with all wide band rings, I recommend buying a size bigger than you normally go for - happy shopping!
